Receive Text UpdatesMy three boys fuel my passion. They each play competitive sports. I think it's important to be an example to them. They see me meal prepping and cooking everyday, and they know I may not always have time to exercise but I make time for it. They know the importance of lean protein, healthy carbohydrates, and fats in their diet, along with fresh air, sunlight, and exercise everyday. My hope is that this lifestyle will provide me with strength and energy to keep up with them for years to come.
What’s your favorite way to train or stay fit?I love lifting weights. Once I hit my 40's I quickly realized my old workouts weren't going to cut it. All the cardio in the world wasn't going to change the fact that gravity (and muscle loss) was taking over quickly. Lifting heavy weights shapes my body and supports my metabolism. I still do cardio work for my heart, but I now prioritize strength training 4-5 days a week, and Pilates 1 day a week to keep my core and stabilizer muscles sturdy for a strong foundation. Consistency has been key.
What would you do with $20,000?I recently started my own business as a personal trainer to help others gain strength and confidence through resistance training. First, I would love to put some money into my business for continuing education to better support a multitude of client needs beyond basic training knowledge. Additionally, I'd love to be able to donate part of the winnings to Horizon Academy, for kids struggling than cannot afford tuition. Horizon Academy greatly helped my son with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD.
