Connect What fuels your passion for health and fitness?

As long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a doctor, so overall health has driven not only my studies but myself my entire life. I am studying with the intentions of becoming a psychiatrist, and I firmly believe that maintaining an active lifestyle is one of the most critical steps to improving mental health. Thus, my passion for fitness will continue to be pertinent for my entire career and I intend to promote and incorporate physical health into my patient care as much as possible.

What’s your favorite way to train or stay fit?

I have been lifting for the past 10 years, which has been my main passion. I also do yoga every single night for both mental and physical wellness. I am a feature twirler for Miami, so practicing and stretching is top priority during the season; however, I am also active in multiple intramural sports--my favorite being beach volleyball. I think fitness can be fun, and I try to mix in both fun activities and functional workouts into my personal life.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put the $20,000 directly towards my student loans and medical school payments. Currently, I work 60 hours per week during breaks to try and make enough money for school and am in crippling debt already-- as I pay for all my own schooling and expenses. Becoming a doctor and caring for patients is my dream and $20,000 would make it so much more feasible for me.
