Having three sons who have all participated in athletics—and witnessing one sustain a serious injury during his senior year—has significantly shaped my passion for health and fitness. This experience inspired me to return to school to pursue a degree in nursing, with a potential focus on physical therapy. Health and fitness are integral parts of my daily life, and my goal is to help others, including my middle school students, understand and value the importance of lifelong health and wellness.

My preferred methods for training and maintaining fitness include teaching and participating in Pilates and dance classes, as well as running. Among these, dance is by far my favorite approach, as it allows me to stay healthy and fit while combining physical conditioning with creativity and enjoyment.

Receiving a $20,000 award would be truly life-changing and would directly impact my ability to continue and succeed in my education. As I am fully financing my schooling on my own, balancing the responsibilities of being a full-time educator while pursuing my degree as a full-time student has been both demanding and financially challenging. This support would significantly reduce my financial stress, allowing me to focus more fully on my studies so that I can become a health care provider.
