Receive Text UpdatesFitness is where my effort matches my outcome. After years navigating alcoholism & the chaos of being a SOF spouse, training became the place I rebuilt with purpose. It protects my mental health, keeps me grounded & helps prevent relapse. Fitness is also how I show others in recovery what’s possible & how I show my boys that I show up, fight & never give up.
What’s your favorite way to train or stay fit?Powerlifting, strength training & jumping rope are my favorite ways to stay fit. In early recovery, I blamed everything but myself for my alcoholism & my struggle to stay sober. Fitness helped me see that progress is the result of my effort. These practices keep me grounded & remind me daily of the power of taking ownership of my life.
What would you do with $20,000?If I win, I’m donating the $20K prize to the Shields & Stripes Foundation. I’m competing to break the stigma around recovery & mental health, not to win money. Giving the prize to a nonprofit founded by someone who rebuilt his life after tragedy & now helps others find their strength, means more than anything $20K could buy me.
