I am someone who struggles with anxiety and depression. I allowed my depression to consume me until I found the gym. Everyday when I go to the gym I get to prove myself wrong. In there it’s no one but me. No one lifts those weights or pumps those reps but me. I finally get to take control of myself and my life. The gym helped me find myself again and I love who I am. The gym is my escape to reality not from it.
What’s your favorite way to train or stay fit?In the mornings after a long 12 hr shift I get to start my morning and end my night in the gym. My form of training is progressive overload. I go until failure and if I can do 10 reps I can do 8 reps with a heavier weight. I find a way to workout no matter what to me there’s always a way to be active and gain mobility control.
What would you do with $20,000?Currently I am without a car and it’s been impossible to get one. I work really hard and a lot so it’s difficult to find a way to work and the gym but I always find a way to do so. Winning the prize would ease my worries and honestly set me up comfortably. I live in a small town with not much income coming through, to me 20,000 is absolutely life changing. I’m honored by the opportunity to even compete!
